Started training Karate as 20 year old, received 1st black belt in 1976 under Alan Miller. Started training with the nunchakus in 1974, and won 15 tournaments using his own techniques. Filmed his first Chakus video tape in 1990, which sold over 20.000 copies. Founded the American Style Nunchaku in 1992, which was recognized as it's own weapons branch by the United States Martial Arts Association in 2002, also later by the United States Martial Arts Federation in 2021. Founded the American Style Nunchaku Federation in 2010, in which he is still acting President to this date.
